I don't want to sound dumb but can somebody tell me how to put one of my pictures up as a profile picture I have looked but cant find the tab/button to save it as profile pic,

Go onto your Profile then click Update Your profile on the left hand column of the screen, scroll down until you see New Profile Photo and click the Browse... button to make the selection from your own Gallery !

Forgot to mention you will find Your Profile in the top right hand corner of the Page, next to Your Account.

I'm missing something here... When I click on the browse button, I can only upload pics from my computer, not my gallery. I can't access my gallery pics at all. Am I doing something wrong?

I don't think there's a way to transfer one of your gallery photos over to your profile photo. If there is, I've never figured it out. Some sites can do that, like a sort of nomination - select this photo to use as your profile photo. But that's not yet an option on this site's custom coding.

Direct upload to your profile seems to be the only option - ie, the "browse" option that you mentioned earlier.
