Friend requests
It's extremely rare for me to accept a friend request from anyone who hasn't added any of their own photos, has a lame/empty profile, hasn't contacted me otherwise, or appears to be no more than a rampant 'friend collector'.
I'm wondering how others who feel the same deal with it?
I hate to decline because it just seems rude, so these types of requests tend to be left just 'pending'.
Do I state this fact on my profile at the risk of sounding like a grumpy old bastard?
Thoughts/suggestions appreciated.

This is a problem I've not solved in over 5 years.

I generally ignore requests lacking a profile photo. However, one of my oldest friends on NBN seldom posts anything at all, and we've chatted regularly and happily for years. I often feel pleased that I ignored my own rules and accepted him. So don't be too dogmatic, or you may never know what you've missed!

Then again, I sometimes accept friend requests for several months or even a year, and then have a reaction against what I call "the facebook approach" and then purge many of them.

Other times, I just let the requests accumulate - I currently have 15 requests on NBN - and vaguely hope that they'll forget that they asked me.

So you can see I'm indecisive and wishy-washy on this whole matter.

I usually just accept them, but I really don't even know what it means? What happens if you are my friend? I don't notice anything different.
