This was posted on status, but better to have conversation here...

As I have said in reply to another post, we haven't, in as long as this place has been here, EVER used any images for marketing. Admin, who is my new understudy, may* have used one in a tweet a day or so ago which prompted one to ask if we had permission. The terms & conditions you agree to on upload state that we do and this has always been the case since day one of the site.

I understand that some of you might not want your images to ever be used for marketing, so what we will do is add another checkbox on upload that says:

"I allow this image/video to be used for marketing / promotional purposes" and you can therefore explictly ALLOW or DISALLOW this.

There is no conspiracy here nor has there been any policy changes or "decisions made" as people are illuding to.

Of course we want to do what YOU want with YOUR permission!!

*update/correction: Admin informs me that he didn't use any NDN content for marketing purposes. So we have never used any image from NDN for marketing, period.
